Filip was inspired by observing best friends text each other. Texting and it’s abbreviated acronyms and code have become a new visual language, a 21st century hieroglyphic. I designed this series of emojis as a gift for my children – quickly they turned into a new short hand, code, between their friends and took on a life of their own.
Look closely, Filip is made of typography turned into texting characters that you would find on any mobile phone.
As the Filip series of emojis infiltrated over 100,000+ text messages, facebook and twitter posts – we noticed something special was going on – Filip and his messages had the power to connect best friends. Soon after the we hit 10,000 shares in social media we began producing branded products designed to connect people.
